The best way to enjoy the latest novel by K. Ishiguro is to dive into Klara and the Sun without any reading about it (except this review as I won't say anything that might spoil your pleasure). Indeed, reading the first pages wondering who or what Klara might be is one of the most enjoyable literary experiences I've had in a while.
Klara and the Sun may not be as moving and powerful as Never let me go but as dystopian stories go, this book offers a thought-provoking insight into current social and scientific issues such as AI, robots, being human or not, and even questions our deeply-rooted feeling that each person is unique.
Which leads to a more disturbing question: why did I feel more drawn to Klara than to the girl who hires her?
